About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced AI Engineer with strong TypeScript and Node.js skills to help build intelligent, search-aware features across our product. This is a full-stack role where you’ll contribute to both backend and frontend development while deeply engaging with LLMs, agentic workflows, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). You will also get to contribute to Open Source.
You should be excited about crafting great prompts, building tools that learn and adapt, and evaluating AI systems with real-world rigor. If you think clearly about metrics like Precision, Recall, F1, and nDCG—and you prefer solid engineering over flashy hype—you’ll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build full-stack features that incorporate LLMs and AI agents
- Craft and refine prompts, experiment with RAG pipelines, and tune agent behavior
- Work closely with product and design to create intelligent user experiences
- Measure and improve AI & Search performance using metrics like Recall, Precision, F1, MRR, and nDCG
- Evaluate open-source and commercial models and libraries to select the right tools for the job
- Contribute to architecture and scalability decisions for agentic systems
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable TypeScript/Node code
- Leverage Python where needed for AI experimentation or integration
Requirements
- Strong proficiency with TypeScript, Node.js, and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React)
- Solid understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG pipelines, and agentic architectures
- Familiarity with AI/IR evaluation metrics (Recall, Precision, F1, MRR, nDCG)
- Experience designing and optimizing AI pipelines end-to-end
- Some experience with Python for scripting or ML model work
- Ability to reason through trade-offs and choose robust, proven tech
- Curiosity-driven, pragmatic, and collaborative
