# **Payment Methods API** 



The Payment Methods API is used to fetch the list of payment methods available for checkout. It is needed prior to rendering your checkout page so that your application can render the available payment options (Cards, Net Banking, UPI, Wallets, Consumer Finance, etc.). > **Note**
> The merchant application should determine whether to display the Pay-in-3 financing option based on the payment methods returned by this API. 
> 
> The Pay-in-3 option should only be displayed if at least one payment method exists where:`payment_method_sub_type = "CF_LSP"`
> 
> This indicates that at least one Loan Service Provider (LSP) financing option is available for the merchant. 
> 
> In case multiple lenders are enabled, they will have payment options corresponding to each lender but all will have the same payment_method_sub_type. For all such response/payment method, the merchant need to surface pay-in-3 options only once.

| Key | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| merchant_configs | Object | Merchant-level configuration flags related to transaction handling. |
| outage | Array | List of payment methods currently unavailable due to outages. |
| payment_methods | Array | List of all payment methods available for checkout. |
| payment_method_type | String | High-level category of payment method (CARD, NB, WALLET, CONSUMER_FINANCE, etc.). |
| payment_method_sub_type | String | Additional categorization of the payment method (for example CF_EMI or CF_LSP for financing options). |
| payment_method | String | Identifier used when initiating a transaction with this method. |
| description | String | Display label for the payment method. |
| pm_response_description | String | Extended description used for UI display or logging. |
| juspay_bank_code | String | Juspay-specific bank or provider code. |
| juspay_bank_code_id | Integer | Internal identifier for the payment method provider. |
| validations | Object | Supported validation features (e.g., refund support). |
| restricted_mode | Boolean | Indicates whether the merchant account is in restricted mode. |
| timestamp | String | Timestamp when the response was generated. |
| verify_vpa_enabled_gateways | Array | List of gateways that support VPA verification for UPI flows. |
