Live destination banks for NACH Debit
There are over 1300 destination banks live for NACH and most of them are live for NACH Debit. NPCI maintains the live list.
You can view the current live list on the NPCI website.
NACH Debit is a sub-system of the NACH payment system. In the NPCI table linked above, the column 'ACH DR' indicates whether a destination bank is live for NACH Debit. If the value is 'Yes' then that bank is live, else it is not live.
If you have integrated our API, we advise you to use the GET NACH Banks List API endpoint to see the current live list.
To validate whether a destination bank is participating in NACH, we check the IFSC against the NPCI NACH Bank master list and the NPCI NACH Bank Sub-Member master list (not public).
Variant physical
All destination banks live for NACH Debit accept physical mandate variant. The live banks for emandate_esign variant and emandate_api variant are sub-sets of this.
Variant emandate_esign

Variant emandate_api

Sub-member IFSCs for physical variant and emandate_esign variant
This is fine for most IFSCs. Unfortunately for some sub-member banks this does not work. For example this bank:
Bank name: Arvind Sahakari Bank
NACH Bank Code: ASKX
RTGS Head Office IFSC prefix: SVCB (through its parent sponsor bank SVC Co-operative Bank)
Branch IFSCs begin with: ARBL
RTGS Head Office IFSC: SVCB0015003
NPCI has not provided any live method for translating a branch IFSC to an NACH Bank Code. We have built a mapping but it's based on the best available data from NPCI and some of the IFSCs that you look for may not contained in this data set. We continue to refine our data set.
In the interim you may pass the sub-member RTGS Head Office IFSC code mentioned in the table and this should work fine. You may do similarly for any sub-member bank by taking the value from the NPCI table linked above. Simply open the link, find the bank, check that it's live for ACH-DR ("Yes" value), and copy the IFSC.
