Physical mandate source and scan creation and processing
Merchants can create and process NACH Debit physical mandate inputs in LotusPay.
Creating source and scan
Initiating a physical mandate input requires the scan image and the soft data (source) from you.
Scan images can be created:
via API
via dashboard
via our mobile scanning app
Sources can be created via:
The step-by-step guide for using the API is also applicable to using the dashboard, mobile scanning app, import and forms. Refer to this guide to understand the end-to-end process.
Checking and processing inputs
In all routes, you must assign an operations person to monitor the Pending Processing page. They should conduct the final check on each and every scan image, and ensure that the requirements are met before processing a source from pending to pending_submission.
The scan image should be proper.
The data in the scan image should match the data in the source.
If we return any source to you with a notification, you should correct the issue before reprocessing that source.
Handling paper mandates
If you have access to a printer at the time of taking the customer's details and signature, you can make computer-generated physical mandates. Otherwise, you can make hand-written physical mandates from a blank or partially-filled template.
Using computer-generated physical mandates
Use the LotusPay API, forms or bulk file upload to create sources with the required mandate parameters.
The source has a pre-filled PDF attached to it that you can print and get the customer's signature on. You can download the PDF from the dashboard source page. If you included an email address in the source, the customer will be sent an email from you with the mandate PDF attached to it.
Get the customer's signature on the printed paper mandate.
Submit a photo or scan image of the signed paper mandate via API, via our mobile scanning app, or via the dashboard.
Process the source on the dashboard or via API.
Using hand-written physical mandates
Write the customer's details on a blank or partially-filled paper mandate (including sponsor bank code, NACH utility code and company name). If you need an editable template, contact LotusPay Support.
Get the customer's signature on the paper mandate.
Use the LotusPay API, forms or bulk file upload to create sources with values precisely matching the paper mandate.
Submit a photo or scan image of the signed paper mandate via API, via our mobile scanning app, or via the dashboard.
Process the source on the dashboard or via API.
