Senior Legal Associate – Brazil (São Paulo)

About the Role:

As Senior Legal Associate, you play a key role in legal operations for Brazil. You will be responsible for interpreting & implementing fintech regulations, advising and implementing Brazilian laws, drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, undertaking legal research, and providing support to other departments as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Commercial Contracts

  2. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including SaaS contracts, partnerships and technology service agreements

  3. Provide risk-based, business-enabling legal advice to stakeholders

  4. Maintain a centralized contract repository and track contract lifecycle and obligations

  5. Regulatory & Compliance (Brazil)

  6. Monitor developments in the fintech and payments space and assist with compliance frameworks

  7. Build and maintain compliance frameworks in line with regulatory requirements in Brazil

  8. Coordinate with external stakeholders
    Data Protection & Privacy

  9. Support implementation of data protection policies

  10. Conduct privacy risk assessments and support data transfer reviews and agreements

  11. Ensure privacy-by-design principles are adopted across internal processes

  12. Internal Legal Support & Research

  13. Conduct legal research and prepare guidance notes

  14. Liaise with cross-functional global teams

Qualifications

  • Law Graduate

  • 2–4 years of experience in a reputed law firm or in-house legal team (fintech/tech preferred)

  • Fluency in Portuguese and English

  • Sound knowledge of contract law, fintech regulations, and data protection laws

  • Strong drafting, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a high-growth environment
