About the Role:
As Senior Legal Associate, you play a key role in legal operations for Brazil. You will be responsible for interpreting & implementing fintech regulations, advising and implementing Brazilian laws, drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, undertaking legal research, and providing support to other departments as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Contracts
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including SaaS contracts, partnerships and technology service agreements
Provide risk-based, business-enabling legal advice to stakeholders
Maintain a centralized contract repository and track contract lifecycle and obligations
Regulatory & Compliance (Brazil)
Monitor developments in the fintech and payments space and assist with compliance frameworks
Build and maintain compliance frameworks in line with regulatory requirements in Brazil
Coordinate with external stakeholders
Data Protection & PrivacySupport implementation of data protection policies
Conduct privacy risk assessments and support data transfer reviews and agreements
Ensure privacy-by-design principles are adopted across internal processes
Internal Legal Support & Research
Conduct legal research and prepare guidance notes
Liaise with cross-functional global teams
Qualifications
Law Graduate
2–4 years of experience in a reputed law firm or in-house legal team (fintech/tech preferred)
Fluency in Portuguese and English
Sound knowledge of contract law, fintech regulations, and data protection laws
Strong drafting, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a high-growth environment
